Singapore: The must-do's! (Day 1 & 2)

I'm currently making an itinerary for the visit of Totek's brother & his family here in Singapore; And I've decided to share the love! Hope to bump into you here in the Lion City!

Day 1 (Thursday)
6PM - Arrival at Changi Airport
  • If you've got lots of baggages, then better unload it first in your hotel or to the place where you are staying.
  • Changi Airport has 4 terminals--PAL Terminal 2, Cebu Pacific & Tiger Airways Budget Terminal.
8PM - Dinner at Glutton's Bay or Makansutra
  • We love to eat here! It's the best destination for tourists because you'll have a taste of Singapore on the cheap, along the superb view of Marina Bay.
  • According to Cova: "pinaka-lami na kain bro!"
    Must try:
    1. Sting Ray - There is only one stall selling Sting Ray.
    2. Chilli Crabs with Bun - Buy from the stall beside the Sting Ray-selling stall. hahaha
    3. Chicken Wings
    4. Cheese Prata with Curry Sauce - No need to buy the chicken curry combo. Just order cheese prata and ask for the curry sauce.
    5. Fried Rice - Get it from the same stall as the Chilli Crabs.
  • Address: 8 Raffles Ave, Singapore 039802

9PM - Merlion at Fullerton Square

  • After the sumptuous meal, walk your way to the famous Merlion. Before reaching, you can take snaps with the Durian-shaped Esplanade Theaters on Bay, and Singapore's cityscape.

Des & Earl (Esplanade Theaters on Bay)

Si Pong na ang may solo!

10PM - Let your guests rest for a long day tomorrow! Hahaha

Day 2 (Friday)
9AM - Jurong Bird Park

  • Take the MRT to Boon Lay Station and transfer to SBS number 194 or 251 at the Boon Lay Bus Interchange.
  • Ticket price starts at S$12/child & S$18/adult. For more details visit their website http://www.birdpark.com.sg/
11AM - Lunch at Marche Swiss Restaurant

  • Marche is not the typical restaurant where you get seated, order from a fancy menu, and take your bill through the black leather folder. It's designed to show how the Swiss market looks like! As you enter the restaurant, the receptionist will be giving you a card (like a credit card) that will be used to order from the different stalls. (It's so cool but when you lose it, say bye bye to your $100. hahahaha) It's so tempting because ALL the food is good in Marche!
  • Must Try:
    1. Roestti with Garlic Pork Sausage & lots of sour cream! hahaha
    2. Crepe
    3. Pork Knuckle
    4. All their desserts spell AWESOME!
  • Take the MRT to Somerset Station. Exit to 313 Somerset.
  • Other outlet: Vivo City

1PM - Orchard Road
  • Walk along the streets of the famous Orchard Road. This is the shopaholic's den. If your not really going to shop, I suggest you walk outside the malls to appreciate the unique architecture of their buildings.
  • Try the $1 ice cream! I prefer wafer than bread.

3PM - Singapore Flyer

5PM - Marina Bay Sands, The Shoppes, Art Science Museum & Gardens by the Bay

  • When I went here, I was speechless! Awed by how creative the people behind these are. And I couldn't help on thinking that what if Davao City will be a different country and we'll be like Singapore, and we'll have the same currency as them, only called Davao Dollar...and so the wishful thinking goes on. HAHAHAHA
8PM - Get ready for Kuala Lumpur
  • Assuming that Day 2 is a Friday, thank God it's a weekend so let's go to Malaysia! Singapore to Kuala Lumpur would be 6-7 hours by coach so it's best to take the last trip and sleep during the travel because by the time you reach Malaysia, Mr. Sunshine is ready to greet you and you  must be ready to explore! It's also one way to save on 1 night hotel stay and to maximize your bout.
10:30PM - Travel to Kuala Lumpur
  • Usually, the last trip would be around 10:30 or 11 in the evening, depending on the coach company. I highly recommend transtar travel's solitaire coach because it has very comfortable lazy boy massage seats. You can visit their website for more details http://www.transtar.com.sg/. Just purchase a one-way ticket (SG-KL). It's cheaper to buy your return ticket from Malaysia.
Day 3 & 4 Coming up next! :)
